The hope for reaching these goals lies in collaboration of professionals in the community that have been working together to strategize an effective campaign. Those in Arizona who have considered the results of the ACE Study significant had begun to meet in 2007 as a “think-tank” to determine what could be done with the findings. Subsequently, as more professionals expressed interest, and ideas developed, the think tank is now the ACE Consortium, and this group has launched a statewide campaign, “Strong Communities Raise Strong Kids.”
This collaboration offers expertise from the medical community, child welfare community, experts in media and campaigns, and from the educational community. These professionals intend to take a multidisciplinary approach to not only bringing public awareness, but also encouraging community responsibility, changes in policy, and redirection of funding toward prevention.
